2 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> • May 3, 2004 <br /> NEW BUSINESS: <br /> Town Meeting Warrant—Discussions of Motions: (continued) <br /> Town Counsel recommended the Selectmen vote on warrant articles <br /> pertaining to revolving funds. The following articles were acted upon. <br /> Article#15—ATM—Petition Article to Authorize DPW Revolving <br /> Account: <br /> Motion made by Selectman Cahalan to support the recommendation <br /> of the Finance Committee and not recommend approval of Petition <br /> Article#15. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Green. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Article#6—ATM—To Re-authorize the Leisure Service Revolving <br /> Account: <br /> Motion made by Selectman Cahalan to re-authorize the Leisure <br /> Service Revolving Account. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Green. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0. <br /> Selectman Taylor abstained. <br /> OLD BUSINESS: <br /> School Resource Officer Grant Proposal: <br /> Maurice Cooper, Chief of Police was present with the School <br /> Superintendent and several School Committee members to request the <br /> Selectmen approve the application for a grant offered by the United States <br /> Department of Justice for a School Resource Officer. <br /> The three-year grant requires the fourth year to be funded by the Town. <br /> Costs associated to the grant were detailed in a memorandum from the <br /> Chief of Police dated April 23, 2004. <br /> It was noted that the article was placed on hold for a full voting quorum of <br /> the Board of Selectmen since the recent institution of a hiring freeze. The <br /> grant application is due on May 17, 2004. <br />
