3 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> May 3, 2004 <br /> OLD BUSINESS: <br /> School Resource Officer Chant Proposal: (continued) <br /> Peter Thomas, School Committee Chairman indicated that the Mashpee <br /> School District is the only town of Cape Cod without a School Resource <br /> Officer. He discussed the importance of the position and stated that the <br /> School Committee has deemed this a high priority and would assist with <br /> funding if necessary when the grant expires in four years. <br /> It was noted that the officer to be assigned to the position would rotate <br /> through out the four schools in the Town of Mashpee. The officer would <br /> be involved in youth activities during vacation and would assist the Police <br /> Department when necessary. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Marsters to approve the grant application <br /> to the United States Department of Justice for a School Resource <br /> Officer as defined. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Taylor. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Weapons Police No. 39: <br /> Motion made by Selectman Cahalan to place the above topic on the <br /> Selectmen's agenda. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Green. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Chief Cooper clarified language pertaining to Weapons Policy No. 39. <br /> a <br />
