3 <br /> • Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> May 9, 2005 <br /> APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS: <br /> Reorganization—Board of Selectmen: (continued) <br /> Selectman Cabalane voted to nominate Selectman Don Myers to serve <br /> as Clerk of the Board of Selectmen. <br /> Selectman Green seconded by nomination. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0. <br /> Selectman Myers absent. <br /> Selectman Green presented a gavel to Selectman John Cahalane for his <br /> dedicated service as Chairman of the Board of Selectmen for the past year. <br /> Selectman Cahalane complimented the Board of Selectmen and Town <br /> Manager on their accomplishments this past year. <br /> COMMUNICATIONS AND CORRESPONDENCE: <br /> Planning Board Update: <br /> • Selectman Taylor indicated that he attended a Planning Board meeting last <br /> week relative to the proposed development adjacent to the Santuit Inn on <br /> Route 28. The Planning Board has decided to refer the development <br /> proposal to the Cape Cod Commission to consider a regional impact study <br /> due to traffic concerns. Selectman Taylor noted that he would be <br /> attending the Zoning Board of Appeals' meeting on behalf of the Board to <br /> relate concerns regarding increased traffic. <br /> It was noted that Myrna Nuey won the vacant seat on the Planning Board <br /> at the recent election as a write-in candidate. The Selectmen expressed <br /> support to Ms.Nuey and her endeavor. <br /> DPW—Request for Signage: <br /> Selectman Green brought up the matter of signage at the herring run. It <br /> was agreed that the DPW Director would be consulted regarding the <br /> replacement of the existing signage with new a new larger sign that would <br /> reduce the speed limit to 20 mph and announce to traffic to use caution <br /> when approaching a pedestrian area. <br /> • <br />
