0 Board of Selectmen Minutes April 11, 2016 Memorandum of Understandin¢ — Housine Assistance Program: Correspondence was received from Leila Botsford; Executive Director of the Mashpee Housing Authority dated April 5, 2016 relative to a draft Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) proposed for the planned Mashpee Housing Assistance Program. Ms. Botsford in her memorandum invited the Board of Selectmen to make recommendations to the draft MOU. If the Town Meeting article anticipated for the Housing Assistance Program were to pass, it is hopeful the MOU would be in place by the end of May to begin processing applications in June. It was agreed the Human Services Director would be involved in the applicant review process, sign a confidentiality waiver, and co-sign documentation to release funds. Town Counsel will be requested to prepare a MOU for additional review, and before the Selectman would make their recommendation on this project to Town Meeting. OLD BUSINESS Discussion of Petitioned Warrant Articles (Articles 21 and 22); Selectman Gottlieb read aloud a memorandum addressed to Tribal Council Chairman Cedric Crowell inquiring on the Tribal Council's official position on Petition Articles #21 and 22 of the May 2, 2016 Annual Town Meeting warrant. (Attachment; Official Town Clerk copy of minutes) A draft letter addressed to Chairman Crowell was read aloud into the record by Selectmen Gottlieb. In the spirit of cooperation, a response to this letter would allow the Board of Selectmen to articulate their position on the petition articles as a Board at the Annual May 2016 Town Meeting. Motion made by Selectman O'Hara to move forward with the letter to the Tribal Council Chairman and the Tribal Council Board from the (5) members of the Board of Selectmen. Motion seconded by Selectman Sherman. VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0.
