ANNUAL TOWN MEETING WARRANT <br />The Commonwealth of Massachusetts May 13, 1974 <br />BARNSTABLE, SS: <br />To the Constable of the Town of Mashpee GREETINGS: <br />In the Name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, you are hereby <br />directed to notify and summons the inhabitants of the Town of Mashpee, <br />who arelqualified to vote in the elections, to meet at the Town Hall <br />on Monday, the 13th day of May 1974 at seven o'clock P.M. for the <br />following purposes: <br />To Act on the"Articles contained in the following warrant: <br />To Meet at the Town Hall the following Wed., May 15, 1974, to <br />bring in their votes for the election of the following officers: <br />One Selectman for three years. <br />One Moderator for three years. <br />One Assessor member for three years. <br />One Treasurer for three years. <br />One Tax Collector for three years. <br />One Planning Board Member for five years. <br />One Library Trustee for three years. <br />One School Committee member for one year, unexpired term. <br />One School Committee member for three years. <br />One Park and Recreation member for three years. <br />One Park and Recreation member for one year, unexpired term. <br />One Board of Health member for three years. <br />One Board of Health member for unexpired two-year term. <br />One Cemetery Commissioner for one year, unexpired term. <br />One Cemetery Commissioner for three years. <br />The Polls will be open at 12 o'clock noon and may be closed at 7:30 p.m. <br />The Meeting was brought to order by the Moderator William W. Mills at <br />., 7:30 P.M., May 13, 1974. 195 Voters were in attendance. A Quorum <br />present. <br />Prayer was offered by the former Town Selectman, Leroy M. Aiken. <br />Tellers were: Eleanor M. Peters, Mary H. Potter. <br />ARTICLE 1. To choose all necessary town officials who are not <br />elected under the Australian Ballot System: <br />Burial Agent -Oliver Pocknett <br />Herring Warden -Warren M. Hicks <br />Harbor Master -Vaughn L. McGough <br />Finance -Committee Members:: <br />Walter F. Hurlburt--Term expires 1975 <br />Thomas E. Gillis --Term expires 1975 <br />Herbert Shanker--Term Expires 1977 <br />Robert H. Borowski --Term expires 1976 <br />Joseph R. O'Connor --Term expires 1977 <br />Shirley M. Robbins --Term expires 1975 <br />Eugene V.I. Fisher --Term expires 1976 <br />ACTION: SO VOTED <br />ARTICLE 2. To see if the Town will vote to accept the Town Officers' <br />reports or take any other action thereon. <br />' <br />ACTION: <br />Motion, moved & <br />seconded to accept.the Town Reports. So voted. <br />ARTICLE <br />3. To see if the Town will hear and act upon the reports <br />of any <br />Committee for any <br />purpose the Town may deem advisable. <br />ACTION: <br />Amelia Bingham, <br />Chairman of the Historic Commission, read a <br />letter <br />addressed to the <br />Selectmen from the Director of HUD, dated <br />Feb. 28, <br />1974, entitled <br />Historic Preservation Grant Program, Project <br />Number <br />Mass. HPC -6 The Avant <br />House, now called Mashpee Wampanoag <br />Indian <br />Museum. <br />
