ANNUAL TOWN MEETING WARRANT The Commonwealth of Massachusetts May 13, 1974 BARNSTABLE, SS: To the Constable of the Town of Mashpee GREETINGS: In the Name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, you are hereby directed to notify and summons the inhabitants of the Town of Mashpee, who arelqualified to vote in the elections, to meet at the Town Hall on Monday, the 13th day of May 1974 at seven o'clock P.M. for the following purposes: To Act on the"Articles contained in the following warrant: To Meet at the Town Hall the following Wed., May 15, 1974, to bring in their votes for the election of the following officers: One Selectman for three years. One Moderator for three years. One Assessor member for three years. One Treasurer for three years. One Tax Collector for three years. One Planning Board Member for five years. One Library Trustee for three years. One School Committee member for one year, unexpired term. One School Committee member for three years. One Park and Recreation member for three years. One Park and Recreation member for one year, unexpired term. One Board of Health member for three years. One Board of Health member for unexpired two-year term. One Cemetery Commissioner for one year, unexpired term. One Cemetery Commissioner for three years. The Polls will be open at 12 o'clock noon and may be closed at 7:30 p.m. The Meeting was brought to order by the Moderator William W. Mills at ., 7:30 P.M., May 13, 1974. 195 Voters were in attendance. A Quorum present. Prayer was offered by the former Town Selectman, Leroy M. Aiken. Tellers were: Eleanor M. Peters, Mary H. Potter. ARTICLE 1. To choose all necessary town officials who are not elected under the Australian Ballot System: Burial Agent -Oliver Pocknett Herring Warden -Warren M. Hicks Harbor Master -Vaughn L. McGough Finance -Committee Members:: Walter F. Hurlburt--Term expires 1975 Thomas E. Gillis --Term expires 1975 Herbert Shanker--Term Expires 1977 Robert H. Borowski --Term expires 1976 Joseph R. O'Connor --Term expires 1977 Shirley M. Robbins --Term expires 1975 Eugene V.I. Fisher --Term expires 1976 ACTION: SO VOTED ARTICLE 2. To see if the Town will vote to accept the Town Officers' reports or take any other action thereon. ' ACTION: Motion, moved & seconded to accept.the Town Reports. So voted. ARTICLE 3. To see if the Town will hear and act upon the reports of any Committee for any purpose the Town may deem advisable. ACTION: Amelia Bingham, Chairman of the Historic Commission, read a letter addressed to the Selectmen from the Director of HUD, dated Feb. 28, 1974, entitled Historic Preservation Grant Program, Project Number Mass. HPC -6 The Avant House, now called Mashpee Wampanoag Indian Museum.
