Special Town Meeting May 2, 1977 �a TOWN OF MASHPEE SPECIAL TOWN MEETING WARRANT MAY 2, 1977 THE COMMONWEALTH OF MASSACHUSETTS Barnstable, ss: To the Constable of the Town of Mashpee Greetings: In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, you are hereby directed to notify and summons the inhabitants of the Town of Mashpee who are qualified to vote in the elections, to meet at the Queen of All Saints Church on Monday, the 2nd day of May, 1977, at seven o'clock, p.m., to act on the articles contained in the following warrant: A quirum of 241 was present. Moderator Frank M. Leonardi brought the meeting to order at 7:15 p.m.. Tellers were Mary Potter, Marian Folkins, Eleanor Thaxton, Grace Maddox, and Joanne Adins. ARTICLE 1. To see if the Town will vote to transfer from the Revenue Sharing Account the sum of $$10, 000.00 to be applied to the Legal & Engineering Account for the balance of the fiscal year ending June 30, 1977. (Submitted by the Board of Selectmen) Recommended by the Finance Committee. ACTION: Article 1 amended to read: To see if the Town will vote to transfer from the Recenue Sharing Account the sum of $$35,00.00 to be applied to the Legal & Engineering Account f'or the balance of the fiscal year ending June 30, 1977. Moved and seconded to accept Article 1 as amended. Motion carried. ARTICLE 2. To see if the Town will vote to transfer the sum of $$335.50 from the Highway Department Clerical Wate Account to the Highway Department Full Time Salary Account. This money is to be used for a correction in the Secretary/Dispatcher salary. (Submitted by the Highway Department) Recommended by the Finance Committee. ACTION: Moved and seconded to accept Article 2 as read. Motion carried. ARTICLE 5. To see if the Town will vote to transfer from available funds the sum of $$5,000.00 to be applied to the Blue Cross/Blue Shield Insurance Account for the balance of the fiscal year ending June 30, 1977. (Submitted by the Treasurer) Recommended by the Finance Committee. ACTION: Moved and seconded to accept Article 3 as read. Motion carried. ARTICLE 4. To see if the Town will vote to transfer from available funds the sum of $1,000.00 to be applied to the Board of Registrars Wage Account for the balance of the fiscal year ending June 30, 1977. (Submitted by the Board of Registrars) Not recommended by the Finance Committee. ACTION: Moved and seconded to indefinitely postpone Article 4. ARTICLE 5. To see if the Town will vote to approve the polling hours of 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. for the next Annual Town Election on Saturday, May 6, 1978. (Submitted by the Board of Registrars) ACTION: Moved and seconded to not accept Article 5. Article 5 defeated. ARTICLE 6. To see if the Town will vote to take from available funds the sum of $$700.00 for a Prtable Hand PAtcher for road maintenace. (Submitted by the Highway Department) Not recommended by the Finance Committee. Action: Moved and seconded to indefinitely postpone Article 6.
