456 <br />TOWN OF MASHPEE <br />ANNUAL TOWN MEETING WARRANT <br />May 7, 1979 <br />THE COMMONWEALTH OF MASSACHUSETTS <br />Barnstable, ss: <br />To the Constable of the Town'of Mashpee Greetings: <br />In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, you are <br />hereby directed to notify and summons the inhabitants of the Town ' <br />of Mashpee, who are qualified to vote in the elections, to meet <br />at the Mashpee Middle School on Monday, the seventh day of May, <br />1979, at seven o'clock, p.m., for the following purposes: <br />To act on the articles contained in the following warrant. <br />To meet at the Town Hall the following Saturday, May 12, 1979, <br />to bring in their votes for the election of the following officers: <br />One SELECTMAN for three years; <br />One ASSESSOR member for three years; <br />One BOARD OF HEALTH member for three years; <br />One PLANNING BOARD member for five years; <br />One PLANNING BOARD member for one year unexpired term; <br />Two LIBRARY TRUSTEE members for three years; <br />Two,FINANCE COMMITTEE members for three years; <br />One FINANCE COMMITTEE member for one year unexpired term. <br />The polls will be open at 10:00 o'clock, a.m. and will be <br />closed at 8:00 o'clock, p.m. <br />Moderator Frank Leonardi reopened the Annual Meeting which <br />was preceded by a Special Town Meeting. A motion had been made , <br />and seconded to adjourn the Annual Town Meeting until after the <br />Special Town Meeting., The motion carried. A quorum was present. . <br />ARTICLE 1. To choose all necessary Town Officials who are not <br />elected under the Australian Ballot System: <br />BURIAL AGENT <br />HERRING WARDEN <br />ACTION: A motion was made and seconded that the Burial <br />Agent be Oliver Pocknett and the Herring Warden be Robert Courte- <br />manche. Motion carried. <br />ARTICLE 2. To see if the Town will vote to accept the Town <br />Officers' Reports. <br />ACTION:• Motion made and seconded that the Town vote to <br />accept the Town Officers' Reports. Motion carried. <br />ARTICLE 3. To see if the Town will hear and act upon the reports <br />of any committee for any purpose the Town may deem advisable. <br />ACTIONS Motion made and seconded to accept Article 3 as <br />read. Motion carried. I <br />ARTICLE 4. To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Town <br />Treasurer, with the approval of the Selectmen, to borrow money - <br />from time to time beginning July 1, 1979, in accordance with the <br />provisions of General Laws, Chapter 44, Section 4, and to issue <br />a note or notes as may be given for a period of less than one <br />year in accordance with General Laws, Chapter 44, Section 17. <br />ACTION: Moved and seconded to accept Article 4 as read. <br />Motion carried. <br />
