-12-
Mrs. Sheldon Hamlen
Pauline: I received a call today from Mrs. Sheldon Hamlen. She is purchasing 12.5
acres of land on the Santuit Rivgr••and she is going to have a farm for rabbits and
horses. I asked if she went to Board of Health to see 1£ permits are needed for that.
I told her if she were going to build within 100 feet of the river, she would then come
to us. She said that she wants to put a house about two acres up from the river. She
claims to be a great conservationist.
Notifying Abutters
Pauline: I have been reading some of the laws about abutters. If anybody else can find
anything else about abutters have to be notified, please let me know. I was told once
before to make sure that abutters were notified. It was at one of the conservation meet-
ings.
Charles: The first draft that we saw of the amendments to the Wetlands Act did contain a
paragraph which stated that you had to notify abutters; but then that was never carried
forward in the final enactment.
Pauline: I know we were told we should do it. May be we should write it into our own
laws.
Charles: Where you are putting together a form letter, include it as part of the act to
notify abutters.
Barbara: I cannot make the March 8 seminar at Holy Cross. MACC has some really good
sem narss going.
Pauline: There is a $10 filing fee.
At our next meeting on February 27, we have a hearing. John J. Lynch III is filing a
Notice of Intent to add a family room and deck to existing structure within 100 feet of
Ashumet Pond.
Minutes of meeting of Jan-j-3.9 accepted as corrected.
Respectfully submitted,
d
Marilyn Farren
Secretary to Conservation
Commission
