-4-
Wayne: What does it mean that these are going to be capped (referring to pipes).
Pauline: What is under the water••is hollow and he either caps them or leaves them.
He drops his pier in -- his pier has some posts that fit into the pipesin the water.
Warnes He is going to take these out and put them in every year?
Pauline: Right. He has to take •them out and he has to have them out by a certain date.
He cannot have any machinery down in there. He has to do it by hand.
Dick: That is pretty heavy to do by hand.
Pauline: Read the Order of Conditions -- they are tough. They are trying to discourage
him.
Barbara: Do you mean to tell me that once he has that thing in, he is goine.. to take it out?
Dicke What do we do if he doesn't take it out?
Pauline: Issue a Cease and Desist. He would be committing a violation against the Order
of Conditions.
SE43-49 Quashnet River
Pauline: This gentleman named Fran Smith stopped into my husband's office and left a
magazine, TROUT. They have been getting commentations from all over the State on this. I
have a letter here from the Division of Fisheries and Wildlife from Mr. Bergin asking for
renewal of permit #43-49. (Letter is read) He has got the trout spawning in there. It
is a beautiful job. So, anyway, I had a phone call from Ted Simpson saying that he and his
father, Harold, had gone for a walk and someone was cutting down cedar trees down on Great
Hay Road. In talking with my husband, he said that those gentlemen were in to the Assessor's
office and they have permission from Mr. Collins to cut. It happens to be Trout, Unlimited
cutting trees for the Quashnet River. So, I will issue a legal extension.
After I received the letter, I ran into Fran Smith in Falmouth and was telling him about the
purchase of the bogs. I said it would be terrific. He was just awarded so many thousands
of dollars to continue the project and to keep this in the back of your mind that there is
Childs River and we would have water rights.
SE43-109 and SW3-110
Jean Pierre Sanchez
Mr. G. Benways Introduces the Sanchez's to the board. Also, would like to make a couple
remarks about the Stevens -- Sanchez petition which was turned back in January. The
Sanchez's are the parties purchasing two lots from the Stevens' and would like the board's
advise and to know what the conservation requirements are to allow them to conform and ob-
viously to build. Also, Stevens ' want to see what- is done is right (I think they sent you
a letter on this) and they are going to continue to own property on the Island. So in that
spirit, I thought that the best thing to do at this point, rather than re-file formally with
no specific idea of what you are requiring, is to help them outline what would be required
in a filing so that a hearing could be held andan Order of Conditions could be issued. John
has some plans here and I know you have plans, Pauline. Right?
