Mr. Benway: . Anyway, if you take that septic system and drop it . . .
Dorothy: I am talking about thip •leaching pit.
Mr. Benway: Okay, I agree with you -- we are talking about forty feet there. If that
leaching pit were put over here and you went towards this house . ..
Dorothy: You cannot go too far to this house because of the well.
Mr. Benway-s , There is no well there.
Dorothy: It is right here on the plan.
Mr. Benway.: . There is no well there now.
Pauline: That§ where they had planned to put it.
Mr. Benway: _ I don't know whether they had planned to put it or not; but there is nothing
magic about it, there is no well there now. The well is over in this corner for this house
at present. Let's go on. Let's forget the well for a minute. If this septic is put over
in here in this point (pointing to area on plan), you would have almostfive inches.
Pauline: That is 100 feet. You have to consider this bay. You have to more or less cen-
ter it.
Mr. Benways . So you are talking probably seventy-five feet. Because the Board of Health
has and can approve seventy-five feet from the marsh: On site, you could get a better idea
where the seventy-five feet would be because we are dealing with a little bit of an unknown
here. All right, let's ask the question: With the well here (there is a well there= there
is a pipe in here) and the septic here being approximately seventy-five feet from marsh and
seventy-five feet from the beach . . .
Pauline: And seventy-five feet from its own well, which is required.
Mr. Benway: . Sure. If those perimeters are met . ..
Pauline: That takes care of that one.
Wayne: With one exception, you've got to carry it over to the next lot.
Mr. Benway: Okay. We know that.
Atty. Boyd: Requests to look at a copy of the minutes from January 9, 1980.
Mr. Benway; . At presently, there is a well over here in this corner. We have a well here
and a septic here. If there were to be located a septic here, let me ask the question, as
long as the septic tank is what -- fifteen feet from the foundation?
Wayne: It has to be five feet,
Pauline: You have to have a cast iron pipe from that .out and you have enough space for your
bulldozer or whatever.
Mr. Benway: _ Oh, sure. Okay, five feet, fine. Now if the septic tank could be located
here somewhere in this position with the well over here and this is higher land than over
to the left.
Pauline: Youre protecting yourself, too.
