-5-
14. No docks, piers or floats may be built without filing with the Conservation
Commission.
K & K Realty
John Scalley
Pauline: We were waiting for a number which we now have, SEA43-120.
Charles: Is this the beach at John's.
Pauline: Right. The washed sand. This goes back to August, 1979. We put a tracer on
the certified mail and a young lady received it at DEQE and that is as far as it went.
The reasons why I do not know. Mrs. Scalley came to me and I made her copies of what she
had and she went up to DEQE to find out why.
Barbara: Is he still going to do the work?
Pauline: Right. We have to issue an Order of Conditions.
Barbara: Didn't we write one up?
Pauline: No, and I don't have it in the minutes.
Barbara: Is this regarding that washed sand?
Pauline: Right, it is still there.
Charles: This was to be put on the offshore wasn't it?
Pauline: Right.
Charles: At least it solves why we didn't have anything to go by.
Pauline: I have been called and called and have tried to check out why and I have no
answers to a reason why they were not issued a number until Mr. Maxim put a tracer on it
and we found out DEQE did receive it.
Charles: As I remember, the only question we had when he was in here was whether or not
it was going into water or how close it was to water.
Barbara: And what kind he was going to use.
Pauline: Reads Notice of Intent. 28,000 sq. ft, residential house abutting Cranberry Ave.
and John's Pond, 35 x 42 foot residence with decks and patios, septic system on street
side of lot. Addition and grading of washed and screened beach sand to existing manmade
beach. No existing vegetation. Soil sandy. Permeability exceptionally good. That was
tested 7/15/79. Natural precipitation is the only source of runoff water. Grade of run-
off from the site is negligible. Exceptionally fast percolation. Destination of runoff
water is ground water table. The elevation 24 inches above pond level at northerly end of
the site; 30 inches maximum pond level at northerly end of beach.
Charles: I think at the time that no machinery be on the beach.
Pauline: Right. It would be hand spread and washed sand. Shows drawing and location
to refresh Board's memory.
