CONSERVATION BOARD MEETING
July 3a' 1980
Present:
Pauline F. DeLory, Vice Chairperson
Dorothy G. Studley
Wayne Tavares
The hearing scheduled at 7:30 p.m. with Peter Fdgerly of Wheel House Lane was delayed
until after the 8:00 p.m, hearing due to the late arrival of Mr. Edgerly.
At 7:30 p.m. Jeannie Thomas, Chet Koblinsky and Frank Homeyer arrived. The following
was discussed:
Jeannie Thomas: Bruce Fulton was in to see the selectmen today. He is not too happy
with the lack of quorum on the Conservation Commission. I have indicated that you have
been to the Selectmen a couple of times and that you have made them aware that you have
one member that is not attending meetings during the summer which makes a hardship. I
can only suggest to you, Pauline, is that the people that have indicated an interest
that you should make a recommendation from one of those. Mr. Fulton was recommended as
a member of the Conservation Commission by Mr. Benway.
Jeannie recommended the name of Edward Norcott, 40 Tracey Lane. Mrs. Howard Pendergast
was recommended .by Barbara Sloane before submitting her resignation. Mrs. Elizabeth
Sprout was suggested by Dorothy Studley. And Wayne Tavares suggested asking Chet
Koblinsky.
Compliances
Jeannie: George Benway asked town counsel whether or not the Chairman on the Conserva-
tion could sign the Compliance agreement. Yes, he, can.
Paulinet Singly?
Jeannie: Yes.
Pauline: But there has to be an on site inspection to see that he has complied with the
Order of Conditions.
Jeannie: Exactly., But he can sign it.
Areas for Grants
Jeannie: I met with Don Casano today who is the Grant Writer for the town. He is asking
that all town departments list their short-term, medium-term and long-term needs for the
town so that he can £lag, them as he know that grants are available. He is suggesting
that we up date our recreation and designate our parks, forests or any areas that you
feel that should be set aside for recreation. Only in this manner can we acquire grants
to obtain more land and to obtain assistance. I have been to the Planning Board and they
are more than willing to up date their master plan, which is going to take some time. So
we can work with them and I will be more than willing to help if I could.
