Wayne: Who noticed it?
Pauline: I received an anonymous call.
Jeannie Thomas: Where is it located, Pauline?
Pauline: Jehu Pond.
Mr. Edgerly: Well, actually, I am really on Great River.
Chet: It really isn't Jehu Pond at all. I was up there just the other day looking at
other docks and his didn't look too bad.
Pauline: This is what Charles said. It would be more detrimental to have him remove it
and cease and desist and then have him come in for a public hearing. So that is why I
did not issue a cease and desist.
Chet: I think Mr. Edgerly just didn't understand how to go about it. As an observer,
in his case, have you already filed with the State and the Army Corps of Engineers?
Pauline: He has been issued a number.
Mr. Edgerly: They issued me a number in going back through the correspondence of 1977.
But this is when the thing died out.
Chet: In other words, you haven't pursued it. Have you corresponded with the Army Corps of Engineers
or the State?
Mr. Edgerly: Originally in 1977, I started this.
Chet: But nothing has been continued since then?
Mr. Edgerly: But nothing has been continued, no.
Like we did on Kovitch's.
Chets Just a suggestion. /He needs a letter of intent for crossing over the walk way.
Under Chapter 91, Section 10A, I think we ought to permit a 10 foot dock and eliminate
all this paperwork and ease it for a citizen. If everybody built a dock as- small as he
did, it is just about what we want.
Pauline: This is what will be done and this will be for his own protection really. He
will have a DEQE number and there will be a legal filing and that will be filed at the
Registry of Deeds as a legal document.
Mr. Edgerly: As a matter of fact, I am a little disappointed where I am and I have a
little patio and going down and take a swim there everyday and everything. But I can't
get to see the shellfish. In order to get steamers ,or little necks, I have to take my
little row boat and go down Great River and practically go out to the point before I can
dig a little neck. So I don't think I am hurting any shellfish. I think the aeration
