Discussion on the hearing for James Fitzgerald, cont. Ken: They have a double lot here. Charles: Yes, but they do not have more than 32 feet to water table. Pauline: On either lot? Ken: Yes, there is only 3 feet between bottom of field and ground water. Charles: They have applied to the Board of Health for a variance and we have refused it. So they are going to have to fill. Pauline: We received $?5 and $10 is still outstanding. Dorothy: So, he is going to require 2 feet of fill? Charles: A minimum of two feet over the septic area. Dorothy: So they have to come to us to get the fill before he can get a variance from the Board of Health. Charles: Right. Ken: Why is he coming to us now? Charles: He is going to have to fill within 100 feet. Pauline: The house is 82 feet from Great River. Ken: So, he is just coming to us for the house? Charles: House and fill. Ken: But the fill is going to be further than 100 feet from the water, isn't it? Charles: Yes. I am curious as to how he is, going to show it on his final house plan. Post Office Invoice Our post office box is finally paid for. Washburn Island We received a copy of a letter from John F. Aylmer, Senator, to Ms. Elizabeth Simpson appreciating her support. He asks that she direct her interest regarding conservation land on the Cape to Senate President 'William M. Bulger, Representative John J. Finnegan, Chairman of House Way & Means Committee and Governor Edward J. zing. He, tells her in his letter that he was successful in getting the Senate Committee on Ways & Means to ap- prove funding for Washburn Island, only to see it knocked out of the budget in the con- ference committee. He also filed a bill for eight successive years for a 2 million dollar bonding issue to fund beach acouisition, but has been unable to get the votes for passage.
