With just alatform the sound goes everywhere.
Aob said they have talked about that . The philosophy of this phase is understated, no structures.
We thought if we went too far we might not get anything.
Tom asked if there is a name toa park?
Aob s;id as we move forward wi h plan, they will think about a process to formally name the
perk. Millennium Park is not the formal name.
Joanne said they are ready to accept donations. The details have to be worked out to hold the
money. Mashpee 2000 is an incorporated committee.
There will bF broken down costs, and a price list available at the December 13'meeting.
Tom asked if there will be a revised plan.
Bob said this pian just shows the concept, there are no dimensions. There needs to be more
engineering done on the road before designing a final plan.
Earl said there was some negativity with the bike path because of taking down trees. It is
a{nazing now how many people us it. This is the same kind of thing. This will become another
center of the community, it can only be positive.
Joanne said the park is preserved in perpetuity, it is not part of a building that may not be here in
te future.
The HDSC thanked the park committee and agreed they did a great job.
1JOUNDARIES
Tom put together a map which shows the Mass. Historic Commission's survey of properties of
historic sign}ficance. We could
do a separate type of district, a neighborhood conservation district, for down Main Street.
like.
n u down street is more neighborhood e.
Earl thought we should concentrate o up street because g
Tom said the two districts should abut each other; Besse Bog could be the dividing line.
I
The committee talked about trying to include the Besse farmhouse property.
Morgan James Peters was present to talk to this Committee about his theater project.
