Foundations Details regarding grading and painting were deleted and the new text reads "Foundations should be left unpainted." 9. Modern Equipment "Wind turbines"were added to the definition list of modern equipment. Wording was deleted which would have required wiring to be placed along the foundation. 10. Outbuildings Added more specific wording to read"Some of the original homes in the District had outbuildings associated with them, such as. . ."to replace"Many." 11. Painting(Wall Colors It was decided to eliminate"Wall Colors"from the title of this section. The Commission would like to have this section reformatted to better identify the Residential requirements and the more restrictive commercial requirements. As a result of the last meeting,the Commission has decided to maintain an Approved List of appropriate paint colors. The Commission will now need to create the list and maintain color chips, and require applicants to included paint chips with their applications. The Commission discussed the necessity to clarify appropriate colors for doors, walls,and trims because one color may look good on a door but not on a wall. The Approved List will need to have separate categories. The Commission decided to delete the final statement of this section regarding colors for Greek Revival architecture. 12. Porches,decks and balconies Minor changes were made to the description of porches regarding columns. 13. Roofs Balconies were deleted because they do not typically exist in the Historic District. In the case of re-roofing, it is not an issue as long as an applicant is using like materials. 16. Skylights Many of the previous details regarding skylights were deleted. Text remains indicating that skylights should be out of view of the public way. 5
