5 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> July 24,2017 <br /> APPOINTMENTS &HEARINGS <br /> Application for temporary signage, Mashpee Congregational Church: <br /> On behalf of the Mashpee Congregational Church,Brad Sweet requested the Board support the <br /> application for temporary signage to announce the Annual Mashpee Pumpkin Patch. One 5' x 4' banner <br /> sign is proposed to be located outside of the road layout at the intersection of Frank E. Hicks Drive and <br /> Route 151 on the lawn area adjacent to the Police Department from October 1, 2017 through <br /> October 31, 2017. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Cahalane to approve the application of the Mashpee Congregational <br /> Church for temporary signage from October 1,2017 through October 31,2017 as referenced. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Cotton. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Roll Call Vote: <br /> Selectman O'Hara,yes Selectman Cotton,yes Selectman Sherman,yes <br /> Selectman Gottlieb,yes Selectman Cahalane,yes Opposed,none <br /> Application for special event, La Tavola,Mashpee Chamber of Commerce: <br /> Application for temporary signage, Mashpee Chamber of Commerce: <br /> A Special Events Application was before the Board from the Mashpee Chamber of Commerce <br /> for the 10th Annual La Tavola Italian Feast planned to be held at the intersection of Fountain Street and <br /> Market Street in Mashpee Commons on Friday,August 11,2017 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The <br /> scheduled rain date is August 12, 2017. <br /> Tom O'Neill was in attendance representing the Chamber of Commerce to request approval for a <br /> one-day license to sell beer and wine only. Mr. O'Neill indicated the La Tavola event began at a time <br /> of low membership with a sense that the Chamber itself would not survive. This event inspired the <br /> workings of the Chamber and the Mashpee business community to continue to work together. Now, <br /> over 350 members have joined the Chamber and it is anticipated that over 400 persons would be <br /> attending this event. <br /> A temporary sign permit was before the Board for the approval of(2) 8' x 4' signs to be placed in <br /> the area of the Mashpee Rotary near the,Stop & Shop parking lot and on Route 151 in front of Blinds <br /> Unlimited one week before the event. It was noted that signage is essential for ticket sales. <br /> The application was distributed to applicable Town departments. Inspections,the Board of Health and <br /> Fire Department have approved the application with recommended requirements as per the <br /> memorandum of July 20, 2017 from Terrie M. Cook,Administrative Assistant to the Board of <br /> Selectman and Town Manager. Proof of liquor liability insurance has been provided. <br />
