11 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> August 7,2017 <br /> APPOINTMENTS & HEARINGS <br /> Catherine Laurent,DPW Director: <br /> Acce tance of recommendation for award of contract for Mashpec Middle/High School Tennis Courts - <br /> Color Coding and Line Painting: <br /> Acceptance of recommendation for award of contract for Mashpee Middle/High School Tennis Courts - <br /> Fencina and Gates: <br /> Catherine Laurent, Director of Public Works indicated the Town received bids for the reconstruction of <br /> the tennis and basketball courts at the Mashpee Middle/High School on Wednesday,August 2,2017. <br /> The project was approved by a vote of Town Meeting last October with funding from the Community <br /> Preservation Act. <br /> Ms. Laurent recommended the following contract awards for specialized work associated to the project <br /> proposal; RAD Sports for fencing and gates and J.G. Coffey Co. for color coating and <br /> line painting,the lowest qualified bidders with favorable references. Both bids fall within the <br /> allotment of CPA funding. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Sherman to award the Fencing and Gates bid to RAD Sports in the <br /> amount of$48,000 and the Color Coating and Line Painting bid to J.G. Coffey Co. in the <br /> Amount of$65,000 for work associated to the Mashpee Middle/High School Tennis and Basketball <br /> Courts as recommended. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Gottlieb. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Roll Call Vote: <br /> Selectman O'Hara,yes Selectman Cotton,yes Selectman Sherman,yes <br /> Selectman Gottlieb,yes Selectman Cahalane,yes Opposed,none <br /> Update on the Upper Cape Regional Transfer Station Reuse Agreement Cavossa Disposal: <br /> Catherine Laurent,Director of Public Works updated the Board on the contract for the re-use of <br /> the Upper Cape Regional Transfer Station. Ms. Laurent represents the Town of Mashpee as a member <br /> of the Board of Managers (BOM). The BOM is expected to vote to award a contract to Cavossa <br /> Disposal Corporation at their August 9, 2017 meeting. The initial term of the contract is through <br /> December 31, 2022 with the sole option of the BOM to extend the term for an additional three years. <br /> The use of the Upper Cape Regional Transfer Station terminated at the end of December 2015 when <br /> the four Upper Cape towns executed new contracts with different disposal sites. <br />
