Town of Mashpee <br /> Affirmative Action Committee <br /> Meeting Notes <br /> September t7,2008 <br /> Present: Chair-Janice Rhoden,Marilyn Farren,Katherine Brown,Karen Murphy, Mai yanne Wray <br /> Absent: Theresa Cook, Marilyn Rollins <br /> Also Present: Paul Perry <br /> CALL TO ORDER <br /> The meeting commenced at 5:35 p.m. <br /> APPROVAL OF MEETING MINUTES: <br /> No approval of July 8,2008 minutes at this time. <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> Resignation of Members: <br /> No Place for Hate Grant: <br /> Chair Janice Rhoden announced her resignation, as of this date, after two years of serving on the <br /> Affirmative Action Committee. Ms. Rhoden would be willing to assist with writing the grant and <br /> would be available if the Committee is interested and money is still available next year. Ms. Rhoden <br /> has spoken with Marilyn Farren regarding people within the town of Mashpee who could be <br /> approached to assist with the mural project. The mural would be a traveling exhibit that could be <br /> displayed in each of the schools and used at various events. Ms_ Rhoden recommends that the <br /> Committee contact art teachers and students in the school system and follow up with a drafted letter <br /> inviting them to attend an Affirmative Action Committee meeting. The mural could be unveiled at an <br /> opening event at the Town Hall,inviting members of the community representative of the town of <br /> Mashpee. <br /> Ms. Rhoden was in contact with Myriam Zuber, Executive Director of No Place for Hate prog <br /> ram <br /> , <br /> regarding the time frame next year for submitting a grant proposal.
