The first question`# <br /> Finance committee members had was regarding the Meeting and <br /> Conference expense . Tom explained that the $280 for the APA <br /> Convention was the cost of admission for this conference and <br /> that he would have to go to out-of-state travel expense <br /> a.ppropriated by the Selectmen to obtain tr v .1 money for this <br /> conference . <br /> Tori noted that there will be a special article requesting <br /> Yr <br /> an , Assistant with a two-year contract to help with the work- <br /> load . The expenses were drawn up with this additional person <br /> in mind . <br /> A major change in this gear ' s budget for the Town Planner <br /> was a $5 , 000 expense entitled water Quality Review. The Town <br /> Planner explained that there is no one on staff with the expertise <br /> to review the effect of subdivisions on ashpee ' s water supply . <br /> case-by-case review is needed to find how these subdivisions <br /> impact water- supply . It is the intention to establish a person, <br /> on retainer, to give the reviews . It was recommended, that i-n <br /> view of the large number- of existing water quality studies, the <br /> name of this expense would more appropriately be Hydrological <br /> Impact Consultant . Tom further explained that this would be <br /> an on-going expense and the $5 , 000 would be the ceiling figure. <br /> There was discussion concerning the increase in mapping <br /> expense , $1 , 200 in the FY87 Budget . The Town Planner explained <br /> that some of the money was being recovered through reap sales , <br /> but $1 , 200 was needed . <br /> i <br />
