Finance Committee <br /> Marek 25 , 1986 <br /> Page 2 . <br /> the Inland/Coastal waterways be worded so that the boats would <br /> be under the control of the Harbormaster . <br /> It was agreed that the Harbormaster would have the existing <br /> boat , plus two new boats and a new motor for the existing boat and <br /> one trailer . Two of these boats would be deployed on saltwater <br /> and the third boat would be utilized in the other ponds and <br /> waterways . <br /> The Finance Committee agreed to look into the ratter of <br /> radios . If the Police Department communications system is agreed <br /> upon there will be ample hand-held units to use throughout the <br /> town . <br /> Chester Koblinsky questioned the Finance Committee about <br /> the pay for the Assistant Harbormast,ers . He felt they should <br /> receive the same wages as the Assistants in the Shellfish <br /> Commission . Koblinsky recommended an hourly rate schedule . <br /> The Finance Committee said that they would consider this matter <br /> and report back to the Harbormaster . <br /> The Harbormaster ' s F 87 budget was changed to reflect the <br /> proposals of this meeting ; <br /> Boat Gas & oil $19700 <br /> Boat Maintenance 1 , 500 <br /> Projected cost of the new boats is approximately <br /> $20 , 000 to $24 , 000 . The specifications of the boats were t <br /> be compiled and forwarded to the Selectmen immediately for <br /> the Arti le on the Town Meeting Warrant . <br /> Jean Thomas , Selectmans, spoke to the Finances Committee <br /> regarding the Water Articles . She explained that the towns of <br /> Falmouth and Mashpee , pending voter approval in both towns , <br /> will eater into an agreement to supply Horse Shoe Bead way and <br /> Tri-Town Circle with water . The Selectmen are presently working <br /> as water Commissioners and there is a great deal of work involved . <br /> $71 , 170 has been appropriated for a field survey just to go into <br /> the construction phase . Betterment procedures are being worked <br /> out and the overall estimated cost of the project is set at <br /> $300 , 000 . Chairman Blythe questioned Selectman Thomas about the <br /> bond for this project and the interest it will accrue t and if <br /> this interest will be added to the individuals betterment assess- <br /> ment . This ratter would be checked into by the Selectmen . The <br /> Selectmen have also contacted the Federal Government and are <br /> negotiating with then. A liability must , however , be proven and <br /> there is a study presently going on to see if water problems are <br /> from Otis . The Briarwood development has water problems also <br /> and will be next for water . <br />
