x �y <br /> J <br /> of <br /> • down all <br /> F C <br /> INANCE COMMITTEE <br /> Finance Committee Minutes <br /> April 1, 1985 <br /> Present: Frederic Blithe, Lou Hronek, Avis McKinley, David Roddy and Elizabeth Terry <br /> Absent: Jane Peterson and William Towner <br /> Members of the Board of Selectmen, Jean Thomas and Willard Hanson, and Executive secretary, <br /> Joseph Murphy also attended the meeting. - The purpose of the meeting was .to discuss <br /> the Annual Town Meeting Tarrant. <br /> Article 2. Retire the bog debt of $57,000. Due to a dispute with the present contractor, <br /> Mr. Murphy felt the cranberry receipts would not be rade available for the annual <br /> town meeting. He felt the town had several choices , 1 raise and appropriate $57,000, <br /> indefinitely postpone the article, or offset the debt by using the money available, <br /> $2800. If this article was pulled from the warrant, everyone seemed- to agree that <br /> the other two articles submitted by the Conservation Commission should also be pulled. <br /> Jean. Thomas disagreed. <br /> Mr. Blythe stated that 'an article asking for funds for the Stabilization Fund has <br /> not been submitted, but would prefer waiting until fall when the financial situation <br /> can be reviewed. <br /> 12. Dog Tag Fund was changed from $430.75 t $420.01•� library expense budget will <br /> be reduced by this amount. <br /> 13. Appoint a Municipal Building and Meed Committee to oversee the needs and all <br /> new town buildings; funds are not needed at this time. <br /> 15. Note to accept the report of the School Building Deed Committee. The committee <br /> is asking for $15,000 for preliminary drawings or $150,000 for final drawings. The <br /> committee agreed on $15,000. <br /> Articles dealing with new personnel or reclassification were held until the selectmen <br /> discussed the same. <br /> 18. $2000 to purchase 5 tables and 50 chairs for the town hall. <br /> } <br /> 19. vehicle for teh Animal Control Officer - article was held for further discussion. <br /> 22. $55,000 to enter into an agreement with the Town of Falmouth to provide data <br /> processing services. It is the intention of the town to use Falmouth's equipment <br /> for two or three years before buying their on equipment. The committee agreed to <br /> $559000. <br /> Article dealing with Chapter 90 funds - $14,895 will be requested for road repair. <br /> The articles submitted by the dousing Authority were put on "hold", along with the <br /> articles pertaining to Job's Fishing Road and access to the Fire and Police Station. <br /> Red Brook Road - $25,000 will be requested to survey this road. This road isnot <br /> owned by the town and should be surveyed before it is accepted. , Mr. Murphy explained <br /> that the town does not own Great Deck Road but has an easement to it. <br /> 4W-P <br />
