Finance Committee Minutes 3 February 1, 1984 <br /> 21. Transfer $18,977.20, which represents the sale of cranberries, to the Conservation <br /> Trust Fund, ` <br /> �. was gamed from the recently purchased bog, $530 from another <br /> bog, and nothing from the third town owned cranberry bog. ' David Roddy reminded the <br /> committee the taxpayers were told that the money earned from the bogs would be <br /> used for pay for the bogs. Four approved the transfer and two opposed. <br /> . Transfer $2500 from revenue sharing to the Council on Aging Expense account to <br /> purchase a copy machine for, $1590, air -conditioning .$ o, and heat $250, for the <br /> senior' enter annex. Not approved. <br /> Y 4 <br /> 23. Transfer $14,819.03 to provide cost of living salary adjustments for non-union <br /> personnel. This is a 5 12 increase. Approved. <br /> 24. Accept amendments to the Personnel Admin trative Plan - language and some <br /> modifications. Approved. <br /> r - <br /> 25 and 2 -- Non-money waterways articles - no action taken. <br /> 27. Waterways article regarding fines.' Accepting article will allow fines to be <br /> collected by the town rather than going to court. Approved. <br /> 2 - 31 Non-money articles - no action taken. <br /> Fred Blythe suggested inserting an article in the annual town meeting clanging the <br /> positions of Town Clerk and Tax Collector/Treasurer from elected to..appointed. He <br /> felt this would- insure the town of getting qualified candidates for the positions. <br /> The Personnel Board would draw exp job descriptions and appointments would be made <br /> by the Board of Selectmen. Avis McKinley voiced concern that this could become <br /> political and should be clearly defined.
