discussing the project with their designer and layout artists. the Lodi's presented a <br /> quotation of$22,500 on Sept 19, with suggestions and recommendations to prepare <br /> text and HR-ore captions and a scanningprotocol for photographs and artwork. On <br /> Oct 10, 2013 Rosemary and Nancy submitted a proposal to CPC for funding to <br /> Publish this book which was reviewed at the Nov 12, CPC meeting. Nancy <br /> attended to describe project and answer questions. CPC expected to announce <br /> decision at Dec or Jan meeting. <br /> Ann provided Rosemary with a book status report describing.number ofphotos <br /> scanned, to be scanned, or missing and a digital file of retyped text and figure <br /> captions for Rosemary to edit during the winter. <br /> On October 31 st at the recommendation of town manager, the Historical <br /> Commission was contacted by Attorney Eliza Cox of Nutter, McClennen & Fish, <br /> LLP, representing National Development Acquisitions/Bridges at Mashpee, a <br /> proposed memory care assisted living facility to be constructed on the corner of <br /> Old Barnstable Road and Route 1.51. Cape Cod Commission (CCC)requested they <br /> contact us to lend financial support to a Historical Commission preservation <br /> project because the project site has no historic structures to preserve. After <br /> emailing all commissioners of this offer, Frank and Nancy met with Attorney Cox <br /> and Samantha Gajewski, NatDev representative, to describe Rosemary's book, <br /> publisher's quotation of$22,500 and description of work. NatDev requested the <br /> Historical Commission submit a letter to the CCC describing our book project and <br /> acceptance of funding from NatDev at a public hearing on Nov 26th in Mashpee. <br /> At the hearing Bridges at Mashpee project was described fully including their <br /> interest in providing funding for the publication of our book. On Dec 10th a <br /> subgroup of the CCC recommended the proposal for funding and passed it on for <br /> approval by the fall CCC at their Jan 2, 2014 meeting. We await the next step <br /> when funds become available and we can withdraw our CPC request for fluids. <br /> Meeting adjourned at 1:00 pm. Archives closed for winter following meeting. Will <br /> reopen tentatively late May at town hall, date not set. Memorial Day will be <br /> celebrated on Monday, May 26, 2014. <br /> .On agenda but no time to discuss: <br /> One Room School house 2013 summer activities and visitors <br /> Visit by Prof. Darwin Stapleton, UMass-Boston, Archive Program Director <br />
