I + <br /> Santlt Pond Diagnostic Study Progress Report <br /> Prepared for the Town of I ashpee and theMashpee Environmental Oversight <br /> Committee <br /> Prepared by AECOM Environment <br /> 12 August 2009 <br /> Progress from mid-July to mid-August: <br /> Data gathering, review, and assimilation in progress). <br /> • Completed QAWP <br /> 0 Performed the first field survey on July 28 & 291h. We deployed groundwater <br /> seepage meters and collected groundwater quality samples, ire-lake quality <br /> samples, and sediment quality samples. <br /> • Contacted Brian Wick from the Cranberry Growers Association and received <br /> general information on discharges &fertilizers used on the bogs on Santult Pond. <br /> • Coordinated with volunteer, Brian Everett from Friends of Santuit Pond, to <br /> sample cranberry bogs (ire progress). <br /> • Learned that MA DEP is duplicating our in-lake sampling pian. 1e Will discuss <br /> with the town about deferring our ire-lake sampling effort to DEP. DEP results <br /> sh uId be avaiiabie late 2009 o r early 201 o, so this may push the cornpletion of <br /> the T 1DL modeling back. <br /> • Conduicted a watershed tour to identify locations of wet weather sarnpIing and did <br /> not observe any outfalls. Confirmed with tern planner that all storm drains are <br /> leaching catch basins and do not discharge directly into the pond. Plan to <br /> discuss with the town about how to pursue this task. <br /> Text Steps <br /> Preparation for next sampling round- plant surrey and groundwater survey <br /> • Discuss with town and cranberry bog owners about specific cranberry bog <br /> discharge events. <br />
