Sheldon Holzer seconded the motion. The motion was unanimously <br />approved (3-0). <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />s Director's Update. <br />1) Jason Streebel reported that since bilis were mailed out 2 % weeks ago, the office has received 20 <br />abatement applications, 19 of which are real estate applications, with no personal property <br />applications, and 1 abatement application for a 9E $250.00 income and expense penalty fee for not <br />filing income and expense information as requested. <br />2) Jason Streebel stated that out of 340 income and expense request forms sent out, 156 were <br />returned, with 184 not returned, representing a total of $46,000 in fees placed on tax bills this year. <br />Jason Streebel stated that he has received only two responses from the outstanding 184 requested <br />forms. <br />3) Jason Streebel reported that Geoff Spillane, on the editorial staff of the Mashpee Enterprise, has <br />transferred to The Cape Cod Times. The new reporter covering the Board of Assessors meetings has <br />not yet been determined. <br />4) The BOA website has been updated with all the new sales reports, the new values and new <br />abatement instructions. <br />5) Jason Streebel noted that Sheldon Holzer's term of office on the BOA will expire in June 2015. Mr. <br />Holzer stated that he would send a letter of interest to the Board of Selectmen requesting that his seat <br />on the Board be renewed for another 3 year term. <br />6) Jason Streebel stated that there are three potential warrant articles that would be beneficial to the <br />seniors and veterans of Mashpee. One would be to lower the age of applicants on the 41 C Senior <br />Exemption from 70 to 65. The second request would be to adjust the income and asset allowances in <br />order to allow a cost of living adjustment every year. Jason Streebel's recommendation would be to <br />
