J <br /> Mashpee Affordable Housing Committee <br /> Meeting Minutes <br /> July 7, 2015 at 6:30 pin <br /> Mashpee Town Hall <br /> Present: Chairman Walter Abbott, Berkeley Johnson, Allan Isbitz, Bruce Willard <br /> Absent: Marie Stone <br /> CALL TO ORDER <br /> Chairman Abbott opened the meeting at 6:35 p.m. with a quorum and the roll was called. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES-June 8,201.5 <br /> MOTION: Mr. Johnson made a motion to approve the minutes as circulated for the meeting of <br /> June 8. Mr. Willard seconded the motion. All voted unanimously. <br /> SELECTMAN PRESENTATION <br /> The Chair reported that he had been in contact with both Selectman Cotton and Selectman O'Hara. <br /> Selectman Cotton was out of town and unable to attend the meeting. ,Selectman. O'Hara has been <br /> assigned to the Affordable Housing Committee but planned not to attend meetings but instead stay in <br /> contact through reading the minutes. The Chair indicated his preference that Selectman O'Hara attend <br /> AHC meetings. <br /> OLD BUSINESS <br /> Warrant Article on Funds for Affordable Housing Trust <br /> Chairman Abbott reported that he had been in contact with Ms. Mason who provided wording for an <br /> Article for the October Warrant. The Article would be submitted by the Town Manager, but supported <br /> by the Affordable Housing Committee. There was discussion regarding changes to the suggested <br /> wording. <br /> MOTION: Mr. Johnson made a motion to change the wording to read "To approve the Town <br /> vote to approve transfer and appropriate for community housing . . ." Mr. 'Willard seconded the <br /> motion. <br /> The Chair will follow up with Assistant Town Manager Tom Mayo for more information regarding the <br /> figures referenced in the proposed Article. There was discussion regarding available Mashpee <br /> Commons mitigation funds and the appropriate amounts available in the Treasury. Mr. Isbitz indicated <br /> that the draft read as though a vote had already been taken, so further discussion continued regarding <br /> the wording with the following suggestion: <br /> To approve the transfer and appropriation of funds designated for affordable housing held in the <br /> Community Preservation Act Housing Reserve and other such funds set aside by the Town of <br /> Mashpee to transfer to the Town of Mashpee Municipal Affordable Housing Trust. <br /> There was agreement that an actual dollar amount was not needed in the Article, but it was believed <br /> that it would be required by the Board of Selectmen. The goal of the Committee was to have all <br /> monies set aside for affordable housing and directed to the Affordable Housing Trust in order to be <br /> utilized. Mr. Isbitz will draft the wording and send it to the Committee and the Chair will follow up <br />
