S <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes' <br /> January 27, 2003 <br /> COMMUNICATIONS AND CORRESPONDENCE: <br /> Association to Preserve C4pe Cod Inc.; <br /> Maggie Geist,Executive Director of the Association to Preserve Cape <br /> Cod, Inc, submitted a memorandum to the Selectmen dated January 7, <br /> 2003 relative to legislation recently introduced in the state legislature that <br /> provides co unitle s with greater local control over municipal planning <br /> and zoning. <br /> Selectmen 1larsters disclosed that he would step down on issues and <br /> articles relative to zoning. <br /> The Association to Preserve Cape Cod, Inc. has urged the Selectmen to <br /> consider adding its name to those calling for a change in state land use and <br /> coning las by joining the Coalition for Zoning Reform.. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Cahaiane to reactivate the forum-zoning <br /> review committee in accordance with the Local Comprehensive Plan <br /> and appoint Selectman David Le eille as the Selectmen's <br /> representative serving on said committee to review the drafted <br /> legislation that would significantly amend existing state zoning and <br /> land use laws. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Green. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 3-0. <br /> Selectman Marsters abstained# <br /> Eouity in 70 Committee: <br /> The Equity in 70 Committee, a regional committee seeking equitable state <br /> funding for the Cape Cod and the Islands' school districts has requested <br /> the Selectmen to tale a position on the Target Share Proposal bill relative <br /> to the Chapter 70 distribution formula. <br /> Most of the towns on Cape Cod, including 1lashpee, would actually lose <br /> money if the Target Share proposal were successful, <br /> On Wednesday, January 29, 200.3, the Pair Share for Sandwich committee <br /> has scheduled a meeting at the Upper Cape "fedi School in support of the <br /> Target Share Proposal. It was noted that the "target share" formula tabes <br /> into account the total real estate value of a ton and then divides that by <br /> the number of students enrolled in the local school, <br />
