i <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> May 5, 200 <br /> Present: Selectman Taylor, Selectman Leveille, Selectman Bar tens, <br /> Selectman Green, Selectman Cahalane <br /> Town Administrator Joyce Mason <br /> Assistant Town Administrator Jar es M= <br /> Meeting Called to order by Chairman Taylor at 6:30 p.m. <br /> Quashnet School conference room. <br /> APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS: <br /> The Board of Selectmen met prior to the Annual and Special Town <br /> Meeting on this date for the purpose of reviewing articles contained in the <br /> i <br /> warrants. In attendance were the Town Accountant and Treasurer/Tax <br /> Collector. <br /> Article#23: To lease or sell a parcel of land containing approximately <br /> acres located east of Route 28 on a proposed street called <br /> "Commercial Street", previously taken by the Town for <br /> non-payment of taxes, to an appropriate non-profit entity, <br /> which may include a non-profit i'n and conference center <br /> { proposed by the been grace Fuad. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Leveffle to Inde mately postpone Article <br /> #23. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Green. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. -0. <br /> Finance Committee—Town Meeting Warrant Review: <br /> The Board of Selectmen met with the Finance Committee for the purpose <br /> of reviewing articles contained in the Annual Town Meeting warrant. In <br /> attendance were Carlton Meredith, Jeff Arnold, Jaynes Morgan, Kathleen <br /> Lynch, Theresa Cook and Dean Arden. <br /> Retiree's Medical Insurance: <br /> The Finance Committee proposed to amend Medical Line Item 987 less an <br /> additional 25%to reflect a reduction of$134,847. It is believed that the <br /> Town does not have the legal authority to exceed the 50 base level for <br /> medical insurance premium payments for retired employees in the F <br /> omnibus budget. <br />
