Mashpee Planning and Construction Committee Minutes of Meeting Held Thursday, September 7,2017 Mashpee Town Hall—Popponesset Meeting Room Committee Members Present: Steve Cook, Tom O'Neill, Joe Brait, and Geoffrey Gorman. Also Present: Catherine Laurent, DPW Patty DeBoer, School Superintendent Wayne Taylor,Assistant Town Manager Chairman Steve Cook called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. Approval of Minutes Geoffrey Gorman motioned to accept the minutes of the Meeting of August 17,2017; Joe Brait seconded the motion. Vote: 3 Yes; I Abstain. Geoffrey Gorman,yes. Tom O'Neill,yes. Joe Brait,yes. Steve Cook abstain. Old Business Update on MSBA Accelerated Repair.Program (window/roof ffoject at Catherine Laurent reported that at the last PCC meeting the Committee reviewed the 60% Plan, but did not have the construction estimate at that time. Catherine said the construction estimate has been received and she provided a copy of the updated total budget status report for the Quashnet School Windows Replacement Project. Catherine pointed out that the Town's share of the project costs is up slightly due to a shift in eligible costs to ineligible status. The Town's share at 60% is now$6,737,288,which is still within the approved budget. Geoff Gorman asked if the additional bathroom improvements discussed at the subcommittee meeting, above what's required by the ADA, are included in this estimate. Catherine said"no," $370,000 would be an extra cost to replace all the old fixtures in the bathrooms,not just the ones required for ADA compliance. Catherine mentioned that some of these improvements will result in some savings, such as water usage efficiency, etc. since the old fixtures are so outdated. Geoff said he agrees with the improvements—was just asking if included in the estimate. Recommendation for use of Construction Manager..at Risk Catherine said the reason for calling this PCC meeting is for this Committee to provide a recommendation to the Board of Selectman regarding using a Construction Manager at Risk for the Quashnet Windows Replacement Project.
