Board of Selectmen <br /> Minute <br /> June 2 , 2003 <br /> COM CATION ANIS CORRESPONDENCE: <br /> MassHousi —Woods at Mashpee: <br /> ee: <br /> Correspondence was received from the Massachusetts Housing Finance <br /> Agency MassHousing dated June 13, 2003 relative to the Project <br /> Eligibility Application for The woods at Mashpee. <br /> The Woods at Mashpee is a proposed 288 unit affordable housing <br /> apartment project to be built per Chapter 40B,the State's affordable <br /> housing comprehensive permit statute. The project is proposed to be <br /> constructed on a 48.1 acre parcel of land on Route 130 in Mashpee. <br /> The comprehensive permit application is scheduled to be submitted in <br /> September, 2003. The Selectmen agreed to obtain input from the Zoning <br /> Board of appeals, Planning Department and Water Department with <br /> respect to this regard. The natter was taken under advisement at-this time. <br /> Massachusetts Senate—SIA National Guard Lease Extension: <br /> The Selectmen were in receipt of correspondence from the Office of <br /> Senator Robert O'Leary dated May 30. 2003 relative to the proposed lease <br /> extension from the Massachusetts Military Reservation. <br /> Senator O'Leary indicated that he is in strong support of the renovation <br /> projects outlined in the Mashpee Plan, the protection of the region's water <br /> supplies, and the establishment of the VVIR a .a Joint Center for <br /> Homeland Defense. <br /> nse. <br /> i <br /> To obtain Federal funding, the new projects require lease adjustments that <br /> grant the military access. Concerns towards a long-term lease proposal <br /> were outlined in the correspondence. <br /> The Selectmen agreed to invite Senator O'Leary to the next scheduled <br /> meeting to further define the issues related to the memorandum. <br />
