Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> November 31 2003 <br /> NEW BUSINSS: <br /> Request to Apply for Grant: <br /> Sever Commission: <br /> Torn Fudala informed the Board that the Town has been invited t <br /> participate in a grant project entitled Protecting Coastal Waters tro g t <br /> Watershed-Wide Permitting and Nutrient Trading in Three Massachusetts <br /> Estuaries. Pilot communities are not required to provide matching funds, <br /> but will provide staff support for the project. <br /> Moto made by Selectman Taylor to endorse the grant project as <br /> outlined. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Green, <br /> VO Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Police I e artment: <br /> Police Lieutenant John Read was present to request the Selectmen approve <br /> a grant application for'Traffic Enforcement and Equipment. The grant <br /> requires a 0% match. Funds exist within departmental budget <br /> appropriations for traffic enforcement activities. <br /> Equipment and traffic enforcement activities eligible in the grant were <br /> outlined in a memorandum from Deputy Police Chief Al Todino addressed <br /> to the Selectmen dated October 14, 2003. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Taylor to approve the Trac <br /> Enforcement and Equipment Grant application as referenced. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Cahalane. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. -o. <br /> Constable Applications(2): <br /> The Selectmen were in receipt of two applications for the appointed <br /> position of Constable. Background investigations prepared by the Police <br /> Department were also submitted for the Board's consideration. There is <br /> one vacant positron. <br /> It was agreed that the matter would be deferred to the neat scheduled <br /> meeting for additional clarification purposes. <br />
