1 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> December 4, 2003 <br /> 'resent: Selectman Leveille, Selectman.green, <br /> Selectman Cahalane., Selectman Taylor <br /> Town-Administrator Joycf, Mason. <br /> Absent: Selectman Ilarsters <br /> Meeting Called to Order by Chaffinan Eevei le at 7:00 p.m. <br /> Town Hall, Conference Room#1. <br /> APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS <br /> Public Comment: None at this time. <br /> Public Hearin cont'd .—Tax Classification; <br /> Selectman Cahalane stepped down for the above referenced Hearing. <br /> Selectman Reveille opened the Public Hearing to continue to bear <br /> comments on the allocation of the tax levy by classification of property. <br /> The purpose of said hearing is to solicit public cormments on whether each <br /> classification of property should have a different tax rate or whether the <br /> tax rate should be the same for all classification . <br /> Joyce Mason, Torn Administrator read aloud the Public Hearing notice as <br /> published. David Bailey, Director of Assessing was present at the annual <br /> classification hearing and discussed classification opios. The four <br /> choices include; a split tax rate, a small business exemption, an open space <br /> discount and a residential exemption. <br /> It was noted that each year at this classification hearing, the Board of <br /> Selectmen and Water District Commissioners are asked to nye four <br /> choices related to the manner in which the Town is taxed. <br /> Being no conunent,the Board motioned to close the Public Hearing. <br /> Motion made by Selectman.Taylor to close the Public Hearing. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Green. <br /> voT : Unanimous. -A <br />
