Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> December 4. 2003 <br /> APPOINTMENTS AND ARfI JS: <br /> Libr@u Board of Trustees—Request to FillVacancies: (continued) <br /> Discussion followed with respect to filling the 37.5 hour per week vacant <br /> position and the benefit of hiring two 19 hour per week employees in <br /> place of one 37.5 hour per week employee. Cuffently there are also <br /> vacancies in the Office of the Town Clerk and Leisure Services <br /> Department as a result of the hiring freeze. <br /> The Town Administrator was directed to verify with the Town <br /> Accountant,positions that were not to be funded as a result of the budget <br /> shortfall. There was no action taken by the Board of Selectmen to remove <br /> the Hiring Freeze. The Selectmen agreed to take steps to limit employee <br /> vacation time during peak months. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Taylor to advertise to re-lilt the 2 re ijn*n <br /> positions; Circulation Assistant 19 hours per week and Library <br /> Assistant 30 hogs per week <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Cahalane. <br /> VOTE; Unanimous. . <br /> NEW BUSINESS: <br /> Appointment to Capital 1mvrovement Program Committee—Member-at- <br /> Lame: <br /> letter of interest was received from Nancy J. Goulart requesting re- <br /> appointment to continue to serve on the Capital Improvement Committee <br /> as a Member-at-Large. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Cahalane to re-appoint Nancy J. Goulart <br /> to the Capital hnprovement Committee C s a Member-at-urge. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Taylor. <br /> VOTE; Unanimous. -o. <br /> k <br />
