12 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> December I5, 2003 <br /> APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS: <br /> Public Hearin ' Request tO Close—Popmnesset Inn: (continued) <br /> Motion made by Selectman Cahalane to approve the request of New <br /> Seabury Properties,LLC, d/b/a opponesset Inn, Stephen T. <br /> Brennan,Manager, to close from January I 2004 through March 31, <br /> 2004 for annual renovations and repairs. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Mar tear * <br /> VOTE: -1. Motion carries. <br /> Selectman Taylor in.opposition, Selectman Levellle absent, <br /> DPW—Transfer Station Fees: <br /> Catherine Lauren , Assistant DPW Director was present to discuss permit <br /> fees associated to the Transfer Station. With expected increases in <br /> operational costs,transportation and tipping fees, it was recommended the <br /> Selectmen consider an increase in the permit fee. <br /> The current fee for a permit is $55. The fee has not been changed in four <br /> years. The increase if approved would be effective for the purchase o <br /> permits in fiscal year 2005. It was noted that a fee of$60,00 would cost <br /> the homeowner $1.15 per week, 39.7%o current costs. A chane of <br /> $ 0.00 would equal approximately $1.35 per week, %of current <br /> operational costs, A fee of$85.00 is comparable with surrounding Cape <br /> towns. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Taylor to increase the Transfer Station <br /> permit fee to$70.00 effective for fiscal year 2005 permits. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Marsters. <br /> VOTE: 3-2. Motion carries, <br /> Selectman Green, Selectman Cahalane In opposition. <br />
