Review of Bylaws impacting the Building Department continued
174-8—Determination of Boundaries by Building_(Page 13).
Mike proposed this should be deleted because a surveyor would make such a
determination, not the Building Inspector. The Committee agreed.
Miscellanea
Gross Floor Area
Mike suggested wording to add a definition for gross floor area to zoning bylaws. Mike
said this would be an item to discuss with ZBA since they encountered a problem on this
topic.
Tear Down and Rebuild
Mike advised that he is working with Town Counsel on drafting a bylaw to be added
(would probably be numbered 174.17.1) and they are hoping to present to May Town
Meeting for approval.
Mobile Food
Mike said he is proposing that mobile food be added to the bylaws because food trucks
are becoming popular now. He said it would probably be added to the Use Table under
174-25 I category. Mike provided proposed wording and designation as PR(Plan
Review) for commercial and industrial zones, but not permitted in residential zones. The
Committee suggested Mike address this proposed new bylaw with Town Counsel when
they meet on the tear down and rebuild matter.
Seasonal Signs
Deb Dami said the Town Manager thinks the Committee should address seasonal signs
under General Bylaws. Mike Mendoza commented that no matter where, signs are
always an issue. Debbie and Mike are working on the signs issue.
Subdivision Board of Appeals Committee Discussion
Deb Dami suggested General Bylaw §3-44 (page 14) appointing a Subdivision Board of
Appeals Committee be deleted since they have never met. The Committee agrees and
asked Deb Dami to send a memo to notify ZBA of the recommendation.
3
