Masbpee Planning and Construction Committee Minutes of Meeting Held Monday,February 13,2017 Masbpee Torun Hall–Popponesset Meeting Room Committee Members Present: Steve Cook,Joe Brait, and Scott McGee. Absent: Tom O'Neill. Also Present: Catherine Laurent, DPW Patty DeBoer, School Superintendent Chairman Steve Cook called the meeting to order at 5:15 p.m. Approval of Minutes Joe Brait motioned to accept the minutes of the Meeting of November 1,2016; Scott McGee seconded the motion. Vote: 3 Yes. Steve Cook,yes. Joe Brait,yes. Scott McGee,yes. Old Business Update on MSBA Accelerated Repair Program(window/roof project at QS) Catherine Laurent reported: • Scope of the project was expanded to include replacement of the roof,which was approved by a joint meeting of the Board of Selectmen and the School Committee. • Looking at March 15 date for submission of the schematic design plan. Steve Cook asked if any schematic plans done;Catherine responded that none done yet. • If approved, June-2018 would be construction start date. • Town has to approve 100% of the funding even though we should be eligible for 38% reimbursement. • Funding must be approved at May-2017 Town Meeting; project must be approved by MSBA at May 21,2017; target date of November-2017 to go out to bid;and construction to start in June- 2018. • MSBA requires school to be 100%accessible—this will add 400,000 to 450,000 to the project to bring bathrooms in compliance----Tone toilet in each bathroom has to be accessible. Bathroom sizes are okay, but accessible toilet stalls need to be enlarged to comply with required dimensions for turning. Decisions to be made: Have to define roofing materials. The Subcommittee met today and decided to stick with rubber membrane roof. Catherine said there are 3 different options for the soffit: 1. EFIS–which is there now and is the least costly. Catherine said this is Styrofoam with stucco finish. 2. Aluminum finish. 3. Phenol composite finish. More color choices with Aluminum and Phenol finish.
