Ms.
Cadoret noted the MNWR property is second to the National Seashore in terms of the size of
conservation properties on Cape Cod. The updated history of the Refuge and related trail
mapping project is important and will prioritize the considerable benefits of the MNWR for the
Town of Mashpee and its Partners. It was noted this project is fully supported by the Mashpee
Conservation Commission.
Nancy Church of the Waquoit Bay National Estuary Reserve voiced support for the MNWR
projects proposed for CPA funding. Ms. Church indicated there is great demand for the mapping
to depict the wildlife trails in Mashpee for its residents and visitors. The need to update the
mapping is compelling and currently there are very few pamphlets available for distribution. Ms.
Church stated this is an invaluable resource for the Town and the schools. The mapping will
support both aspects of the proposed projects.
As the MNWR projects were discussed, it was agreed if the projects were supported by the CPC,
the Town of Mashpee/Community Preservation Committee seal would be displayed on the
brochure to promote further awareness and recognition of the benefits of the CPC in the Town of
Mashpee.
