Mashpee Design Review Committee
Tuesday, June 7, 2016
Mashpee Town Hall Waquoit Meeting Room
Committee Members present: Jonathan Furbush, Joseph Uummings, and
Michael Mendoza.
Michael Mendoza called the meeting to order at 8:33 a.m.
North Street, Mashpee Commons
Temporary Structure for Kit and Ace
Retail Shop – June 15 to September 15
Representative –John Ren_z___ _
Tom Feronti and John Renz of Mashpee Commons appeared. Tom Feronti said
they are here to day to get some input and hopefully approval to put a temporary
structure for a retail clothing outfit named Kit and Ace. They are a clothing
manufacturer and they are in the process of exploring additional locations for
their retail spaces. Prior to expending time, effort, and money building a store,
then are looking to put pop-up stores in certain locations to determine the market
potential.
Tom Feronti said the or000sed hop-up store would be a alorified shirmina
container that is roughly 20X30 that would be brought in; it would have a
modified A-Frame attached to it so it doesn't look like a shipping container; and
they open the door and sell the clothes.
Plan right now is for Kit and Ace to arrive mid-June and stay until August 2, ;
then container would be removed and taken to the Hamptons. Mashpee
Commons is reauestinci timeframe of June 15 to September 15 because if Kit
and Ace is successful here they would like to stay open until labor Day. Also,
due to shipping/delivery concerns, they may be delayed in their move to the
Hamptons. A copy of Site Plan and Conceptual Renderings were reviewed.
• Kit and Ace container location would be on grassy area north of Maiden
Voyage, which is located at 4 Market Street right across the street from
Starbucks.
• It is adjacent to 2 sidewalks on 2 sides, as well as handicap spaces.
• Container basically only needs 120 Volt outlet power; they have LED
lighting fixtures inside the container. This location is adjacent to a tree pit
that has an outlet they will plug into.
• No modification to the Site whatsoever—container just being placed there.
