North Street, Mashpee Commons (continued)
• Met with Fire Department to go over smoke detectors and fire extinguisher
locations. Fire hydrants close nearby.
• Signage—one sign over front door and they may also put a sandwich
board sign on North Street. Jonathan Furbush questioned having
sandwich board sign. Tom Feronti said it would be inside Mashpee
Commons, which is permitted and not governed by By-Law as long as not
near 28. Sign would be probably 24X36.
Tom Feronti explained there is a solid door at front that flips down; storage
boxes slide right in and they close door.
• When door down, storage boxes keep door down. Mike Mendoza
cautioned that it has to be handicap accessible. It was suggested that
anything more than % inch lip would have to be lowered.
• Tom Feronti said this doesn't impact parking at all since Mashpee
Commons has excess of 67 parking spaces based on zoning
requirements—he said none of the North Market Street parking spaces
are included in that number.
• Mike Mendoza noted that nothing submitted tells colors. Jonathan
Furbush agreed with Mike and said colors/materials should fit in with the
rest of Mashpee Commons.
• In addition, Mike asked what materials used for the padded front?' Tom
Feronti didn't know, but will find out.
Mike Mendoza commented that this is a temporary structure and documents
submitted don't tell how it's going to look. Mike asked that in the future keep in
mind Design Review has to look at structure, materials, colors, and signage.
CONCLUSION: Joseph Cummings motioned to approve as presented.
Jonathan Furbush seconded the motion; and the motion was unanimously
passed by Design Review.
Approval of Minutes
Jonathan Furbush motioned to approve the Minutes of the Design Review
Meeting of May 17, 2016, as presented; Joseph Cummings seconded the
motion, and the motion was unanimously passed by Design Review.
Adjournment...
