MASHPEE CULTURAL COUNCIL <br /> Minutes of the Meeting—Regular Session <br /> Thursday,October 6, 2016 <br /> Mashpee Senior Center <br /> Meeting called to order at 9:15 am by Sarah Daley <br /> Present: Sarah Daley, Robert Mendes,John Miller, Bruce Taggart, Lynne Waterman <br /> Absent: Dawn Thayer, Mary Kate O'Brien, Nina Cocomazzi, Barbara Cotton (ExOfficio) <br /> Sarah Daley introduced members and provided a brief discussion of the roles and responsibilities of the <br /> Council. <br /> Ms, Daley thanked everyone for their flexibility with regard to the change in meeting schedule. <br /> Secretary's Report:__Sarah Daley <br /> L. Waterman made a motion to accept the minutes from the August 26, 2016 meeting, and it was seconded. <br /> Motion passed unanimously. <br /> Treasurer's Report: Bruce Taggart <br /> Annual Report <br /> $4,309 award for the 2016 grant cycle <br /> $1,514 total expended <br /> $1,600 encumbered <br /> There was discussion about the MCC change that 15%of allocation can be spent on Administrative Funds <br /> (instead of the previous 5%) and what that means for a Community Event and additional administrative <br /> spending—including reimbursing John Miller for the Facebook Boosts..Bruce is going to double check this <br /> amount with the state and report back <br /> Discussion on developing a Community Event was tabled until more members are in attendance. <br /> Publicity: John Miller <br /> John recently sent out a press release and posted on Facebook about the 2017 grant application cycle <br /> being opened. He is also going to contact Mashpee TV about a PSA <br /> Old Business: <br /> Barbara Cotton (Ex-officio) reviewed the Website regarding the new on-line application process. She reports <br /> that the format is fairly easy to follow. Sarah Daley will check the MCC Website to determine how many <br /> applicants have applied online. On-line applications will be collected and collated by MCC and packets will be <br /> emailed to council members by November 1, 2016. <br /> Meeting Dates for awarding grants will be discussed at next meeting <br />
