Town Manager Request(continued) <br /> Dan Riley commented that the purchase orders go back to November and to see all this now when in arrears raises a <br /> process issue. He said he would rather have seen the request at a meeting last December. Chief Collins responded <br /> that this was budgeted so originally they were not going to be requesting funding; but due to the <br /> complications/issues that arose Town had to now think outside the box because there is no other funding source. <br /> Following lengthy review and discussion of the items requested, it was concluded that the request was for <br /> information technology and that the$57,000 funding would be recommended as follows: <br /> MOTION: Dan Riley motioned to recommend allocation of$32,000 for expenditures paid for <br /> telephone/telecommunication-related equipment; and$4,000 for cabling and infiastructure to support same. He said they had problems with sound in the Control Room at <br /> Town Hall and that was corrected. A plug behind the console was unplugged at various times and Town <br /> Administrator has corrected that situation. Wayne introduced Bill Nay,General Manager of Mashpee TV, and said <br /> any questions should be referred to him. <br /> Bill Nay said he will send single sheet updates to MCAT that he routinely provides to Board of Selectmen. He said <br /> he will send list to Andrew Eliason for MCAT to review. <br /> Wayne Taylor exited the meeting at 1:50 p.m. <br /> Bill Nay advised that since October his priority was to get Channel 18 in order and that was done. He said the <br /> vision is Channel 18 is to be a reliable source of information for the community; and to make it interesting for <br /> summer visitors also. They can now replay meetings; and can do scheduling remotely via computer. David <br /> DelVecchio commented that through Masbpee TV IT Department can now remotely login and leave messages on <br /> Channel 18. <br /> Bili Nay said working with IT Department meetings now streamlined and archived on YouTube. DVD record done <br /> as back-up; bard drive archive of meetings done as well. <br /> Bill Nay said he has a marketing plan, including Channel 18,that he is going to present to Mashpee TV Board <br /> tonight. <br /> Bill Nay said one of the big issues Mashpee TV faces is that High Definition(HD)transmission is not made <br /> available from provider. He suggested that if perhaps MCAT Board would address a letter that by not moving to <br /> HD these companies limit free-flow of information,then that might prompt them to move to HD. Andrew Eliason <br /> said this topic will be placed on next MCAT meeting agenda. <br /> Control Room <br /> Andrew Eliason asked again whether a phone could be installed in the control room. David said it can be done very <br /> easily. Chief Collins cautioned it can be done, but have to look at the process involved. <br /> 2 <br />
