4 <br /> Finance Committee <br /> Minutes <br /> February 18, 2016 <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> FYI Discussion of Town Meeting Warrant Articles: <br /> Capital Improvement Proms(continued) <br /> It was reported the continuation of the schools wireless program$70,000 would be funded by the <br /> Schools within the constraints of their operating budget or with the use of School Choice tuition. <br /> It was noted that School Choice funds are permissible to expend on infrastructure and technology <br /> projects. To reaffirm available funding estimated receipts from the Division of Local Services <br /> (DLS)were reviewed with respect to School Choice tuition and Chapter 70 income. <br /> Fire Truck Pumper: <br /> Additionally,the CIP unanimously recommended the town move forward with a bond to fund a <br /> new pumper truck for the Fire Department. Under temporary borrowing,the sum of$650,000 <br /> would be appropriated through Ambulance Receipts for the purchase of the new vehicle to <br /> include equipment and training. <br /> Mrs. Cook indicated there were several projects that remain unfunded. In accordance with the <br /> Charter,the CIP requested the Planning&Construction Committee re-convene to recommend <br /> and prioritize the infrastructure projects. With this report,the CIP will most likely meet in the <br /> fall and potentially bond much needed projects which include the window replacement project at <br /> the Quashnet School. <br /> Motion made by Mr. Richardson to approve the FY17 CIP budget as presented. <br /> Motion seconded by Mrs. Cook. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 6-0. <br /> Roll Call Vote: <br /> Mr. Avis,yes Mr. DelPonte,yes Mrs. Cook,yes <br /> Mr.Klenert,yes Mr. Richardson,yes Mr. Pettengill,yes <br /> Opposed,none <br />
