North Street, Mashpee Commons (continued)
Comments
Mike Mendoza advised that Design Review Committee approved and that board's only concern was
to make sure it was handicap accessible. They wanted to be sure the lip at the front isn't difficult to
access.
Scott Carline asked if there is an alarm system and/or any security concerns. Tom Feronti responded
is to both questions.
Tom Fudala questioned whether or not this has to go to ZBA for Special Permit. Tom Feronti said
they do not believe so since it's a temporary structure, not permanent building.
Jack Phelan questioned Knox Box access. Tom Feronti said they will do that and give Fire
Department access.
Action Item
Mike Mendoza said several weeks ago he gave Tom Feronti a heads-up alert on an issue that
according to the Plumbing Inspector this structure requires bathroom for employees or they need to
obtain a Variance from the State Plumbing Board. Tom Feronti said they demonstrated it met
proximity requirements, but Plumbing Inspector said because not a covered area to bathrooms it did
not necessarily meet requirements of the Code. Tom Feronti said Mashpee Commons is working on
arrangement with one of the adjacent tenants to let employees have bathroom access, or they would
bring in a porta potty if they have to do so.
John Renz said he will get a letter from one of the other tenants that they will give bathroom access to
the container employees. John Renz and Mike Mendoza will then have a meeting next Thursday with
the Plumbing Inspector.
CONCLUSION: Rodney Collins motioned to approve, subject to questions relating to the bathrooms
being resolved.
