Rodney Collins,Dawn Thayer, Andrew Gottlieb, <br /> Terrie Cook, Chuck Gasior <br /> Meeting Called to order by Chairman Collins at 3:00 p.m. <br /> 1 Iashpee Town.Hall, Waquoit feet'Ing <br /> Room <br /> Prior to the onset of the interview process regarding1 7 capital projects to be <br /> considered for the May 2016 Town Meeting,the CIP reviewed supplemental information <br /> relative to the Cape Cod Technical School in Harwich. It was noted thatIIashpee <br /> vocational students have been attending the technical school since 198 1. If the{Town <br /> were to opt out of the prograrn it was recommended that legal procedures and <br /> involvement from other parties such as the School Department be taken into <br /> consideration. <br /> A revised summary of capital requests including a compilation of funding commitments <br /> for vehicles and equipment, and first year requests was distributed to the CIP. It was <br /> agreed the respective fiscal years of the first-year capital requests would be carried over <br /> on the spreadsheet for ease of review. To assist in the planning process a debt schedule <br /> was also disseminated. <br /> APPOINTMENTS &HEARING <br /> Recreation: van Year#2 of a -Year Lease Purchase $9, 19207: <br /> Mary Bradbury, Director of Recreation was in attendance to review estimated <br /> disbursements committed for the department's 12 passenger van in the lease to oven <br /> program. The sura of$9,919.07 is required for payment in year 2 of a -year contract. <br /> The recreational van is used locally to transport children in the extended day programs <br /> and sunnner day camps. when necessary,the van is used by other town.departments. <br /> Funding for the recreational van derives from the Recreation Department revolving <br /> Fund. It is a self-sustaining fee generated account. There is no additional cost to the <br /> Town for this vehicle. This is a committed expenditure to be funded by the recreation. <br /> Department revolving Fund. <br /> The total cost of the van including lease fees is $29,979.14. mer the term of three gears, <br /> the vehicle will be owned by the Town of Mashpee. The projected life of the vehicle is <br /> +years. <br /> It was noted that on occasion,the recreational van is loaned to the School Department,, <br /> Rodney Collins,Town Manager indicated this is a permissible use. However,the School <br /> Department should not rely on the vehicle as a part of their transportation program. If the <br /> vehicle is to be used on a long terra basis, a recreational van should be included in the <br /> School capital budget program. <br />
