MASHPEE ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS <br />MEETING MINUTES <br />JUNE 14, 2017 <br />Mr. Furbush read the Board of Health, Conservation and Inspection Department comments <br />into the record. <br />Mr. Blaisdell made a motion to approve the proposal request for a variance. Mr. Goldstein <br />seconded. Chain-nan Furbush asked the Board members to vote. Mr. Pittsley, voted to deny, <br />Mr. Blaisdell voted in favor, Mr. Goldstein voted in favor, Mr. DeBarros voted in favor, <br />and Mr. Furbush voted to deny. The Board voted 3-2 which denied the variance relief. <br />32 Gia Lane: Owners, Michael G. Flood and Catherine A. Flood request a side yard <br />Variance under § 174-31 of the Zoning Bylaws to replace an existing deck with an enclosed <br />four season room on property located in an R3 Zoning District, Map 104 Parcel 41, <br />Mashpee, MA. <br />Michael Flood represented himself for the request. He said he has a 12' x 12' deck in the <br />rear of his house and wants to move it over one foot, and turn it into a four season room. <br />He said he is 9 ft. 1 inch off the property line and is looking to move it 8 ft. off the property <br />line. He said his surveyor told hirer that in 1972 when the sub -division was built, the cement <br />pour for the house foundation was in the wrong location and at that time the property line <br />was extended 11 ft. into the neighbor's yard on the side. He proposes to move the deck for <br />esthetic reasons and to add the stairs. <br />Chairman Furbush read the Conservation, Board of Health, and Inspection Department <br />comments into the record. <br />The Board had a discussion regarding the proposed addition and told the applicant it has to <br />have a 6 ft. opening as per the Board of Health comments. <br />Mr. Blaisdell made a motion to approve the variance based on the Site Plan —Plot Plan of <br />Land, Prepared for: 432 Gia Lane, Mashpee, MA, Date: April 17, 2017, Scale: 1" = 20', <br />by: Stephen Doyle and Associates, 42 Canterbury Lane, East Falmouth, MA. Stamped by: <br />Stephen J. Doyle, Professional Land Surveyor, 4/21/17, The Board approved a 7 ft. <br />Variance for the West side of the lot. <br />Mr. DeBarros seconded, yes. Mr. Goldstein, yes, Mr. Pittsley, yes, Mr. Furbush yes. All <br />were in favor of the four season addition. <br />164 Captains Row: Owners, Mark R. Galante and Robin Galante request a Written <br />Finding under § 174-17 of the Zoning Bylaws to allow for construction of an 10' x 18' <br />.addition on property located in an R-3 Zoning District, Map 96 Parcel 28, Mashpee, MA. <br />Mr. Steve Cook with Cotuit Bay Design representing the homeowners who own the ranch - <br />style house that runs along the Mashpee River. The small addition will be in the front of <br />the house but was moved backed 13.6 ft. from the property line. <br />
