Mashpee Waterways Commission Meeting June 14,2016 P.213 <br />Harbormaster Report (con't) <br />Doug Cameron stated the MA Department of Environmental Police <br />establishes regulations for all bodies of water greater than 500 acres. <br />Regulations cover boat length, permissible speeds, allowed activities e.g. <br />water skiing. <br />Discussion of compliance by all Chapter 91 dock owners with requirement <br />that docks be marked with street address. Lettering must be in 3" colored <br />characters which contrast with signage background color. Role -if any- of <br />Waterways Commission in advising dock owners of Chapter 91 <br />requirements? <br />Shellfish Constable Report <br />No additional information on DNR position <br />Green crabs still be caught, crushed and disposed of as fish food <br />Summer staffing includes an additional 4 people -3 college students and a <br />marine biologist. Post summer staffing will consist of Rick, Ashley and <br />another marine biologist starting in August. <br />10 million quahog seeds received from hatchery <br />Reguest for Shellfish License- Mike Ronhock <br />Mike submitted a revised application which covers approximately one acre <br />in Great River. Length of license will be for 10 years. Ken and Don <br />MacDonald have surveyed area by boat with Mike. <br />Concern expressed that area covered by license must be well marked with <br />yellow aquaculture buoys. All water activities are permitted in licensed area <br />except shell fishing. <br />Motion made by Stan Healy to recommend approval of application, 2Nd by <br />Al Wickel. <br />
