Minutes of Waterways Commission Meeting September 13, 2016 Page 214 <br />Shellfish Constable Report: <br />Department of Natural Resources (DNR) finalized beginning of July <br />• 4 million oyster "spat" seeded in Shoe String Bay and Mashpee River. <br />Quahogs in Little River developing well <br />2017 plan includes use of Ockway Bay for propagation which will require a <br />work shed.. Ken commented an Ockway Bay Channel may be dredged in the <br />future and the ramp parking lot used for drying/storage of dredged sediment. <br />Catherine pointed out there is a master site plan for the Ockway area which <br />includes moving 26 moorings to Ockway and creating a family shell fishing <br />area. <br />There was a lack of consensus about putting a shed in the Ockway Bay ramp <br />area. If a shed/temporary DNR facility was to be constructed, where should <br />shed be located? <br />ACTION: <br />Selectman Gottlieb suggested Rick York put together a "project outline" <br />covering "why, what, temporary building, etc. ?" for Waterways Commission <br />Review <br />Ken and Rick York to set aside some time to discuss options for Ockway area. <br />Andrew stressed need to have options and cautioned about getting too <br />attached to just one approach <br />Committee Reports: <br />• Mashpee,Lakes- <br />• Wakeby, Lake: <br />➢ Water level down 6-8 inches <br />➢ Sign at loading dock obscured by shrubbery <br />ACTION: DPW to remove shrubbery <br />
