Minutes of Combined Meeting of <br />Mashpee Design Review Committee and <br />Mashpee Plan Review Committee <br />Held Tuesday, July 21, 2015 <br />Mashpee Town Hall — Waquoit Meeting Room <br />Design Review Members Present: Joseph Cummings and Jonathan Furbush <br />Plan Review Members Present; <br />Catherine Laurent, DPW Director <br />Michael Mendoza, Building Commissioner <br />Rodney Collins, Town Manager <br />Thomas Rullo, Fire Chief <br />Scott Carline — Police Department <br />Andrew McManus, Conservation Agent <br />Glen Harrington, Health Agent <br />Michael Mendoza called the meeting to order at 9:02 a.m. <br />548 Falmouth Road <br />Mobil Gas Station <br />Replace existing price sign faces with LED display faces <br />Standing sign <br />Representative — Paul Labbe <br />Paul Labbe appeared and stated they are proposing replacing existing price sign with new electronic <br />price sign. No square footage change; only change would be number display. He Said this is <br />industry standard and they are changing New England signs. Other Cape towns using LED sign are <br />Yarmouth and Hyannis. Mr. Labbe said the tendency is for LED signs to display at night. There is a <br />sensor so less light in daytime. He said some towns have been adjusting by-laws to permit LED <br />signs. Jonathan Furbush said currently Mashpee By -Law states no LED signs allowed in Mashpee. <br />Applicant would have to appeal to ZBA, but LED not allowed. <br />1178 Great Hay Road <br />Accessory apartment request for review <br />Will go to Board of Appeals for Special Permit <br />Owner — Scott Fronius <br />Scott Fronius appeared and said he is the homeowner. <br />• Putting in apartment for elderly parents coming back from Florida. <br />• Glen Harrington said the Septic Design Plan is for new 3 bedroom, so Applicant will have to <br />take one bedroom out or make one room not a bedroom because dwelling in Zone 2 where <br />restricted. Mr. Fronius said they are making one of the current bedrooms into a laundry room, <br />so there will be 3 bedrooms. Glen Harrington advised that for the Building Permit Applicant will <br />need Floor Plans on the existing dwelling and show how they are going to convert that room. <br />• Glen said Applicant does not need Septic inspection since whole new septic system being <br />installed. <br />• Mike Mendoza noted the fence around the in -ground pool appears not fully enclosed. Mr. <br />Fronius said the entire backyard is enclosed now. <br />
