MASHPEE AFFORDABLE HOU'STNG COMMITTEE MENU TES <br />JANUARY 4, 2005 <br />Present: Deborah Battles, Zella Elizenbeny, Jamie Regan, Alice Lopez, Eric Smith, Louise Patrick, <br />and Trudi Ide, <br />Absent: John Cahalane. <br />Audience: Julius Rosales, Candidate for Affordable Housing Committee <br />Roland Dupont, Canal Project Management Corporation <br />Steve Giatrellis and Jay Miller, ABKJJT, LLC <br />Meeting called to order at 7:05 p.m. <br />Approval of Minutes... Jaime motioned to accept the minutes of December 7, 2004; Trudi seconded the <br />motion; and the motion was carried. <br />Presentation of Proposal for 588 Main Street, Maslipee, MA <br />Roland Dupont made a presentation to the Committee regarding the proposal froom ABKJJT, LLC for <br />Affordable Housing rental units at 588 Main Street, Mashpee, MA. The purpose of the meeting is to <br />request conceptual approval from the Affordable Housing Committee to take to the Selectmen. <br />Bob Murray from the Falmouth Housing Authority sent a letter to Zella expressing his approval of this <br />project. <br />Proposal is for 120 rental units consisting of: <br />:hive 3 -stony buildings with 24 units per building <br />Six — I bedroom/ I bath units <br />Fifteen — 2 bedroom/2 bath units <br />Three — 3 bedroom/3 bath units <br />2 Commercial lots (restaurant/medical offices) <br />6.5 acres of recreational space <br />Remainder — Open Space <br />(Existing parcel is 48 acres) <br />The Applicant is proposing that 25% of the 120 units will be affordable. However all units will be counted <br />towards the Town's Chapter 40B Inventory of Affordable Units, since this project is a rental unit <br />development. <br />They are currently gathering data on impacts and will prepare a report shortly. <br />A natural resources biologist has been on the site several times and will generate a report. <br />Currently preparing a discharge permit for DEP. <br />A property management firm has not yet been determined. It was suggested that the Mashpee Housing <br />Authority be appointed manager of this project. <br />Questions: <br />— Trudi rnade a comment that it was a very good presentation. <br />
